UPDATE: A Sparks man was sentenced for drug trafficking and eluding prosecution in multiple cases.

The Washoe County District Attorney's Office says 30-year-old Adam Moore was sentenced to a combined 11 years in prison related to convictions in three separate criminal cases.

He pleaded guilty to one count of trafficking a Schedule I controlled substance, one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and one count of attempted felony eluding a police officer.

Moore must serve a minimum of four years in prison before parole eligibility begins.

The case began on September 20, 2019, when a detective with the Regional Narcotics Unit conducted an undercover narcotics operation. Moore was arrested for having narcotics and being a felon in possession of a stolen firearm.

One December 29, 2019, he was out on bail when he fled from the Sparks Police Department after failing to yield for a traffic stop. He fled at a high rate of speed and his car was later found and he was identified as the driver. He was not immediately arrested, but was later charged with the offense.

On September 21, 2020, the Regional Narcotics Unit received information about Moore's whereabouts and he was found. He tried to flee again and discard drugs he had on him, but he was arrested and a search warrant was executed on the room he was staying in. Trafficking amounts of heroin, oxycodone pills, drug paraphernalia and $1,740 were recovered.

On Monday, detectives say they tried to serve a felony warrant to Moore, but he ran away into a nearby parking lot where he was eventually taken into custody after a brief struggle. They say Moore had 141.3 grams of heroin on him when he was arrested.

Ward was stopped in a traffic stop down the street from the hotel the same night. Detective say they found 35.35 grams of heroin and 21 grams of methamphetamine on her, and inside her car when she was arrested.

Moore is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (42 – 100 grams), Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sales, Trafficking of a Controlled Substance (low level), Obstructing and Resisting an Officer, and a felony warrant.
